Tool Unit
During offshore wind turbine installations, tools have to be placed on the offshore foundation platforms. This often happens in several lifting operations where the hydraulic, electrical, and various hand tools have to be hoisted. Offshore lifting operations are critical, time consuming, and expensive, and must therefore be avoided as much as possible.
The tool unit is designed in such a way that all tools have a fixed location within the unit. All tools are easily accessible and can be lifted out of the unit if necessary. When designing the unit, weight was one of the most important design requirements, in addition to the use of lightweight materials. The unit has a leak-proof bottom to prevent the leakage of chemicals from generators and hydraulic tools to the environment.
