Borssele II Offshore Wind Farm
Borssele 1 & 2 are the first offshore wind farms in the Netherlands. As a Dutch company, it was an honour for TME to be part of this milestone. This offshore wind farm has a capacity of 752MW and provides a million Dutch households with green energy.
TME made 79 soft covers with a diameter of 6.5 meters, with a weight of 375 kg and a height of 2.2 meters from the top of the TP. The height of the TP-cover was higher than normally designed, as our client Van Oord required extra working space under the cover. The soft covers consist of hot-dip galvanized steel frames and canvas covers made out of 900g/m2 Panama tarpaulin fabric (PVC).Ease of installation is created by the thoughtful design, which makes it possible to assemble the TP-cover within one hour by two persons. The lifting option was applied to lift the cover, after use, from the TP in its whole. The TP-cover was accommodated with ventilation to prevent mold and fungi from happening.
