Windpark Fryslân Offshore Wind Farm
Windpark Fryslân is the largest inland water wind farm in the world, which is located in the Netherlands. 89 turbines generate green energy for 500.000 Dutch households.
TME delivered 80 soft covers with a diameter of 4.5 meters to Van Oord. Unfortunately, due to funding issues, the Taranto offshore wind farm was cancelled and the TP-covers were appointed to Windpark Fryslân. The soft covers of the Taranto offshore wind farm would fit with some adjustments on the flanges of Windpark Fryslân, therefore, TME created an adapter piece to make them fit perfectly.
The soft covers consist of hot-dip galvanized steel frames and canvas covers made out of 900g/m2 Panama tarpaulin fabric (PVC). Double ventilation was installed to prevent fungi from growing inside the TP-cover.
